About me.
Guiding around Oxford allows me to indulge in my love of art, architecture, history, poetry and literature. Before guiding I worked as a teacher and lecturer for 25 years and am happiest sharing my time with groups of people eager to know more.
Come on a walking tour and let me share with you Oxford’s fascinating tales and curiosities. My special interests include: the city’s art, architecture; Oxford’s writers, their literature and poetry; the development of science and medicine as well as crime, punishment and policing through time; Oxford at the time of war (both Civil Wars and the First and Second World Wars); and the story of women in Oxford.
About Oxford.
Oxford is a bustling city bursting with life. There is so much to see and do: visit museums; take a stroll in the green spaces and gardens; walk or even punt along the waterways; enjoy the vibrant markets and shops; and of course you can explore the colleges and university buildings.
The city is boasts many cafes, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy delights from around the world.
Beyond the city centre Cowley Road is lively with many great venues including places to enjoy music and dance the night away. Along the canal Jericho is a hip suburb, glistening with student life, independent shops, cafes and bars. It boasts the Jericho Tavern where local bands Radiohead and Supergrass once performed.
