A walking tour with a local is the best way to enjoy a visit to Oxford. My name is Sara. I am an historian with an enthusiasm for the many stories that make Oxford a fascinating place to visit.
My love of the city began when I studied at Brasenose College, one of the 39 colleges that form Oxford University. I have since qualified as an award winning Green Badge Guide.

For the ultimate experience enquire about a bespoke tour. I will work with you to create a memorable stay in Oxford; so that you can find great hotels and restaurants and book with confidence. Ensuring you have access to ‘local’ knowledge, so that you can find hidden gems off the beaten track. As a trained historian with access to a range of resources I can work with you to design a tour that delivers on aspects of the city’s story that interest you.
Themed tours.
Oxford is bursting with history and culture, so much so that one tour cannot possibly cover everything. Alongside the ‘Highlights of the City and University’ tour I also offer tours that explore themes including literature, poetry, science, art, architecture and film.
Having spent 25 years teaching history I have a detailed understanding of GCSE and A-Level topics that can be brought to life during a tour of Oxford. Contact me to find out how I can help you design a memorable trip to compliment your syllabus.

“I wonder anybody does anything at Oxford but dream and remember, the place is so beautiful. One almost expects the people to sing instead of speaking. It is all – the colleges I mean – like an opera.”
— William Butler Yeats 1888
